The Lake Park Community Affairs Department consists of two people and provides the special events and recreational opportunities for residents and visitors of all ages.

The department not only implements numerous on-going holiday events such as: The Kelsey Irish Festival , Holiday Tree Lighting, an Easter Egg Hunt the and a summer Fireworks Festival, but it also presents a fully-coordinated Summer Camp Program.  Through a 29-passenger shuttle bus, the department is also directly involved with bus trips, including scheduling and driving to sporting events, cultural events, amusement parks, school's out trips for kids and destinations throughout the entire state of Florida.  In between events and bus trips, the Community Affairs Department processes all town rental facilities for outside use, coordinates tackle football & youth basketball, and oversees classes such as aerobics, pinochle, Girl & Boy Scouts, children and adult dance, etc....

This past year, the department recreated the former Lake Park Police Station into the Recreation Station.  The "Station" houses not only the 7-week summer camp, but also an after-school program for children ages 7-14.  The Station is open every weekday from 2:00pm - 4:30pm and all-day when the local schools are closed on special days.

Over the past several years, the department had attracted over $400,000 in grant money from the State of Florida and Palm Beach County for the renovation of such town recreational facilities as the Sixth Street Ballfields, the Recreation Station, Kelsey Park, and the Lake Park Tennis Facility.
